A. I can't imagine that any publisher would actually publish volumes of fanfiction - I think there would be legal implications - but there are plenty of websites. Livejournal has communties entirely devoted to Harry Potter slash.

If I need the permission how could i get it.? Because I have so many fan fics that i thought it would be cool to publish a book about it and share it with everyone else.

What kind of romance could I add to a fan fiction story with avatar last airbender?
Q. I wanted to do a story of romance with me and Mai together. I was thinking little things like giving her foot rub or something. I have been wanting to write fan fiction on Avatar Last airbender. I have decided that I will be in the story, and characters will be limited. The setting is in the mountians, in either a log cabin (cedar) or a Chinese style house like in the show already.

How can you create a fan fiction archive for free?
Q. I have created a Twilight RPG web site, and wish to add a fanfiction archive to it. Does anyone know where I can find a way to create a fan fiction archive and / or a fan art gallery for free? Thanks! :-)
Asked by Luke - Tue Feb 17 10:03:30 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The best thing I could think of would be deviant art where you can upload both pictures and literature. What you added wouldn't be the only things on the site but if you had a username you could create a gallery which can also had different categories. Bravenet would also be pretty good because it has lots of wed tools such as blogs, albums, forums and free websites; any of which could be used for your own needs. You could also use a free website maker such as piczo which can be used to create almost anything really. Or you could always start a blog on something like Live Journal and use each entry as a new story (making sure to use the Live journal Cut' and archive to your full advantage).

Q. I'm just looking for a site that might have some fan fiction involving olympians.

A. What exactly are you looking for? Here's a community on LiveJournal that has some fan fic involving Olympians. There's also a lot of slash groups out there if you're into that. Those actually seem to be the most popular. I'm not going to post the links here, but if anyone wants them just contact me and I'll pass them on. My friend and I are writing a soap opera type story with Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte. (Amanda Beard and Alain Bernard are our villains lmao!) If you're interested in reading it, my LiveJournal is Hope this helps a little!

Are there any non-fan fiction scifi stories available online?
Q. I know many existing books and movies have tons of fan fiction available free to read online. I wonder if there is any science fiction available similarly, but that is not based on existing characters or plots? I have read most of the sci fi at the library that looked remotely interesting and am just looking for something new and different.

How to properly plan a fan fiction?
Q. I have been trying to figure this out for a long time and I know different writers plan fan fictions differently but I really need help. I'm afraid to even work on any story/fanfiction because I'm afraid of messing up which I have on every chapter fan fiction I've ever done. Could anyone please help me? --a distraught lover of writing

A. I agree with Failtastic. You don't really *have* to 'plan out' you fanfic, but if that's what you want to do, feel free! Don't be afraid to post though. Fanfiction.net has a very review-happy community, really. It might not be all detailed analysis, but you should be able to get some feedback. If you mess up, ff.net even lets you edit the already posted chapters! If you're going to write an outline, I would reccomend you deciding on a base minimum for how long you chapters are going to be. Beware, the long chapters, like the *really* long chapters that some authors spit out, are around 45-50 pages in Word. For a beginner, go smaller. After doing that, make sure you know what you're writing about. WHo's P.O.V is it (Point of View)? What… [cont.]

A. there are many fanfiction websites I'm going to assume you mean Fanfiction.net With that website just log in and go to the publish then go to document manager and follow the steps. it's really easy. After you've uploaded the story go to the publish tab again and this time go to new story (u may be able to go to this directly from the upload place-haven't uploaded in a while) From their it should be easy to figure it out-they tell you what to do. =] good luck What kind of fanfiction are you writing? A. Fan fiction is any writing that uses characters or plot from a already published work. Good fan fiction is based on opinion, but if it helps here are my two cents: * Make sure you include cannon characters. Cannon characters being ones that already existed rather than ones you invested for the story. Some new people are fine, but have at least a couple originals. * Keep the rules of the universe intact. If there is a character with no siblings, don't go out of your way to give them some. If there is an organization with only girls, then there shouldn't be fifty of them in the fan fiction. There are, of course, exceptions if it is a big plot point, but it usually isn't well receipted, and isn't one of my favorite things. * Try your… [cont.]

Why do people write fan fiction?
Q. I write parodies sometimes, but that's not the same thing. Most authors don't appreciate fan fiction, and some encourage websites not to allow users to post fan fiction relating to their books. It can be alright if it's well written, like Convenant Dance said, but also like he said, most of it's hurts my spleen.

A. I have no answer for this. Being a published author myself, I find "fan fiction" cheap, distasteful and practically theft. I assume it's justified by the fans saying, "Oh I loved this so much I want to create my own stories based on YOUR characters." But in what other world would this be acceptable? Imagine, Fan Fiction for "Great Expectations," "Sound and the Fury," or any of the classics. It would be attacked instantly by any educated human alive. Fan Fiction walks a VERRRY thin line between being creative writing and being plaguristic. I think it's somewhat flattering when fans want the stories to continue, or want their own aspect over control of the characters themselves. However, using characters, plot, theme, settings created… [cont.]

How does Harry Potter fan fiction differ in form from original fiction?
Q. that is saying a person wrote an original piece of fiction and than wrote a harry potter fan fiction would differences would exist between the two

A. Fan Fiction is a direct copy of the original characters from either an author, playwright of TV / Film Company. This is written in new and often exciting ways by members of the public who place this on the internet. At the start of each story there is a disclaimer telling the world at large that the characters and places that are in the books or TV show or film belong to the Author or Company. This is to show that no copyright infingement was meant or taken. In this case Harry Potter and his whole universe belongs to J.K. Rowling. Any original characters that the writer has dreamed up are thier "intellectual property" but the school and the magical world remains the sole copyright of JK Rowling. It is worth stating that the… [cont.]

Where can I find some good fan fiction?
Q. I know that most fan fiction sucks, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good ones, preferably fan fiction for A Clockwork Orange... either fan fiction that's so bad that it's funny, or genuinely good fan fiction. Either works. But... I already know about fanfiction.net... :( Darn, if I can't find any fanfiction for ACO I might have to write some myself... but I really need to finish my novel first... gahh. I almost never read hetero fanfiction, lol... though it's hard to imagine that there's any ACO slash out there... (what would it be of, Alex and Mr.Deltoid? EWWW) I already looked on LJ and FF.net... no luck. :(

A. Oh! I can recommend anything done by the author 'dontstealmyvitaminies' on fanfiction.net. She does VERY good adaptations of some of Jane Austen's classics. Try 'Sweet Lolita', which would best fit what you're looking for (reaaallly rich, powerful guy - an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice). My favourite is 'The Hill', though (I'm an Emma fan). They're all fantastically written and well planned out. Good luck :)
